CHAPTER ONE Grampa's Story The year is 2081, and Grampa Worst is dying. But before he does, he's determined to tell his three grandchildren--Henry, Joe and Francie--a story about the earthquake in San Francisco, 1989--the year before he was born.

CHAPTER TWO The Noodge Grampa's father, Warren Worst, didn't know it yet, but his world was about to be turned upside down on that fateful day in 1989. Two small creatures had emerged from an opening in the ground on a hillside of San Francisco, and they would need the help of an unsuspecting young human.
CHAPTER THREE Warren Meets Lily During the earthquake, Warren's car rolls into a warehouse where a beautiful artist named Lily lives.
CHAPTER FOUR A Kid Named Leo Eleven-year-old Leo Fickett was flunking Warren's class. Warren had always figured the kid just wasn't smart. He was about to find out he was very wrong.
CHAPTER FIVE Strange Strangers in the Basement After Warren had gone for a run, Leo heard strange noises coming from the basement.
